Teacher rub students backs and sit with students. Children independently put together puzzles until all are finished and we head outside for gross motor and free playġ:00- 2:00 Rest time All students rest quietly on their cots. When a student’s family arrives, he/she puts on his/her coat and backpack and leaves with his/her family.ġ2:00- 12:05 Bathroom break Students use the bathroom if needed and all wash hands.ġ2:05- 1:00 Lunch and Outside Play!! Students eat lunch together in the Kitchen just like a family! We may read a book, do a character building or social skills activity, Have a class meeting, or have a science talk.ġ1:40- 11:45 Journals Students draw and write about their day at the tables. All students wash their handsġ1:25- 11:40 Circle II For circle 2 we focus on building social skills, character, or science. Students can also play on the equipment and in the sandbox daily.ġ1:20- 11:25 Hand washing and Bathroom Students use the bathroom if needed. It just depends on the day and the activity.ġ0:55- 11:20 Outside/Gross Motor Various gross motor activities are set up around the playground to practice and develop various gross motor skills. (SOMETIMES I will pull students during centers for small groups). The groups are always changing based on students’ ability, interest, or random selection. ![]() New games and activities are introduced at this time to ensure student success. Skills and concepts students are learning during centers are literacy, math, science, art, fine motor, and social skills.ġ0:40- 10:55 Small Group At some point during center time, students will work with the teacher in a smaller group to learn various literacy, math, or science skills and concepts. New themed activities are added to each center every week. Our centers are art, blocks, discovery, library, pretend, and discovery. We may also do connecting activities (charts, graphs, songs, etc.) to build oral language, social skills, science/math concepts, and various literacy skills.ĩ:45-10:40 Centers Students pick a center they want to work in with a friend or independently. Students share, join in, make meaning, and make connections to build reading comprehension, book knowledge, and/or phonemic awareness. Then we read a book related to our theme. Through music we build and learn various language skills, phonemic awareness, math concepts, music, social skills, and gross motor skills.ĩ:30-9:45 Circle-time I We start with the message of the day to building literacy skills. Music time is filled with songs, rhymes, instruments, and use of gross motor equipment. ![]() There is tons of math embedded into calendar time. The routine is put belongings away, say bye to his/her family, answer the question of the day, sign in, & do the table activity.ĩ:15- 9:30 Calendar/Music & Movement We review the calendar and schedule and talk about our day. 9:00- 9:15 Morning Routine students do the morning routine as they arrive. ![]()
